Others, of course, also in other important professional fields, whether in medicine or in business, whether in schools or early childhood education, whether in law or journalism. They brought clarity to complex challenges, built bridges between Germany and Iraq and enabled sustainable solutions. It was impressive to see how their approaches were transformed into tangible results.

There are things that if they didn't already exist, you'd have to invent them. That is why I am happy and grateful that it is now — you almost have to say: finally! — the Avicenna Study Program exists. Your namesake shows you the way: Stay open, stay critical, stay engaged. Be role models for those from your families, from your communities, for all of us who strive to combine faith and commitment in science and society.
